movimiento Open Access.

"Community- and healthcare-associated
methicillin-resistant S aureus (MRSA) infections have become a growing public
health issue over the past two decades. In this video, Dr. Fowler examines
strategies to prevent Staphylococcus aureus infection and transmission,
including whole body, systemic, environmental (surface and surroundings)
decolonization, as well as pet decolonization in some instances. Interventions
for uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections should ideally aim at
reducing antibiotic use whenever safe and appropriate. For complicated skin and
skin structure infections, there are now several appropriate broad-spectrum
antibiotic treatment options available. Dr. Fowler reviews the pros and cons of
these agents and provides practical clinical perspectives and advice for
successful patient management ."

The National Library of Medicine and the
National Center for Biotechnology Information have released the new and
improved PubMed Health website. Focusing on reviews of clinical
effectiveness research, PubMed Health provides easy-to-read summaries
for consumers, as well as full technical reports.
PubMed Health is based on systematic
reviews of clinical trials, showing what treatments and prevention
methods have been proven to work, and what remains unknown.
The PubMed Health database has been
built in partnership with the US's Agency for Healthcare Research and
Quality (AHRQ), the UK's National Institute for Health and Clinical
Excellence (NICE), the German Institute for Quality and Efficiency in
Health Care (IQWiG), and The Cochrane Collaboration, among others.

Annals of Internal Medicine's "Patient Information Pages"
"Summaries for Patients" are brief, non-technical summaries
of studies and clinical guidelines published in Annals of Internal Medicine. The
Summaries aim to explain these published articles to people who are not health
care providers
Summaries about studies describe how researchers did the
published study and what they found. Summaries about clinical guidelines
describe the official recommendations for patient care developed by official
groups such as the US Preventive Services Task Force or the American College of
Physicians.
"Patient Information Pages" provide general information for
the public about a common health condition. Patient Information Pages accompany
each of Annals' monthly In the Clinic feature. The pages include information
about other sources for good information about the condition.

This easy-to-use website features basic
health and wellness information for older adults from the National
Institutes of Health.
